CJ: Career-Worst 4 Yards On 11 Carries Looks Bad

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Titans running back Chris Johnson knows the numbers look pretty bad.

The man nicknamed CJ2K for his 2,006-yard rushing season in 2009 started this season with just 11 carries for a career-worst 4 yards in a 34-13 loss to New England. As bad as last season was after his holdout for a contract extension, Johnson never ran for less than 13 yards in a game.

Johnson said Thursday he takes the blame when the run game struggles.

The Titans (0-1) have a young quarterback in Jake Locker, Kenny Britt's back with a good group of receivers and a strong tight end with Jared Cook. Coach Mike Munchak says they want to spread the field to run and pass.

They'll try again Sunday in San Diego (1-0).
