PUTNAM COUNTY, Tenn.- A Putnam County man with an extensive rap sheet says jailers denied him medical treatment and he's filed a $125million lawsuit.
Thomas Winningham has been jailed three times in the past year for charges ranging from aggravated kidnapping, assault, vandalism, evading arrest, and resisting arrest. In his lawsuit, he claims each time he went to jail, staffers didn't give him medicine he needed, and had to be hospitalized once he was released.
He says that violated his rights, and now he's asking for $50 million in compensatory damages, and $75-million in punitive damages.
