OLD HICKORY, Tenn. – Police have found the former University of Memphis and NFL player David Gary Hathcock who went missing from his Old Hickory home.
Officials said the 69-year-old went missing Sunday afternoon.
A patrol officer with the Wilson County Sheriff's Office found Hathcock safe Monday around 9:30 a.m.. He was as found under a bridge near Highway 109 in Wilson County - a mile east of Mt.
Juliet.
A citizen had seen Hathcock's picture in the news and recognized him leaving a store Sunday.
Hathcock told his family he was going for walk on Rolling Mill Road in the Brandy Wine Point subdivision. His wife reported him missing when he didn't come home.
A K-9 unit was assisting in the search. A helicopter search was called off due to the wet weather.
He is a former UM football standout who went on to play for the Green Bay Packers and New York Giants.
Police said Hathcock's son drove him back home.
