NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee's volunteer group, Hands On Nashville, has asked for 500 more volunteers for their effort to spruce up schools across Davidson County.
Volunteers must be able to help on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
Group officials said they have 57 projects benefiting Metro Nashville Police Schools. Improvement projects include painting, landscaping, and other one-day beautification projects.
Around 1,500 people have already signed up to participate in the annual day of service, but organizers estimate they need about 500 more to be able to include all 57 schools who have requested help.
Hands On Nashville's president and CEO, Brian Williams, said the project gives residents a chance to make a difference in their community.
"We ask Nashvillians to join in on this inspiring day of service to help support the schools where Davidson County children learn and play," said Williams.
Every volunteer who pre-registers will get at0shirt and an invitation to the CMT One Country Celebration at Limelight after projects are complete from noon to 2 p.m.
Anyone interested in participating should log on to www.HON.org/honday for more information and to register.
