MANCHESTER, Tenn. - A thief who Manchester Police said could disappear like a ghost has finally been put behind bars and after his arrest detectives recovered thousand of dollars worth of stolen cash.

"As one investigator said: he's a ghost.  He's not on anybody's radar," said Manchester Detective Billy Butler.  Butler said Harold Wiley had a talent for vanishing after robbing restaurants of cash.

Butler said Wiley meticulously planned his burglaries by mapping out his exact targets and hitting after busy evenings when the businesses were flush with cash.

Wiley managed to dodge police for months, crossing the boarder into Tennessee from his home in Georgia. Police said his luck ran out when he was caught on surveillance video after robbing a Mexican restaurant in Manchester.

Officials were then able to track Wiley to his home outside Atlanta and using a search warrant discovered a safe full of what they said is stolen money.

Wiley is being held in Georgia, but will return to Tennessee to face charges.
