CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Clarksville police have identified the shooting victim who was found lying on the road with a gun in his hand as 50-year-old Charles Sims.
Officers responded to the area near Reynolds Street and Dodd Street Tuesday around 8 p.m. after responding to a call of several shots fires.
Police said Sims had been shot several times. He was transported by LifeFlight medical helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
Sims later died from his injuries. His name was not immediately released, pending notification of his family members.
Investigators said they had few details about the shooting and have asked for the public's help developing the case.
