NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Kroger has announced a recall of certain types of spinach in 15 states because of concerns of Listeria.
The recall affects many different states including Tennessee and Kentucky. Consumers were asked to check their purchases for a Fresh Selections Tender Spinach 10-ounce packages (UPC: 0001111091649) with a "best if used by" date of Sept. 16.
Officials said this type of spinach may contain Listeria monocytogenes. Listeria monocytogenes, if eaten, could result in severe illness to those individuals who are pregnant or have a weakened immune system.
Customers can return the items to stores for a full refund or a replacement.
