NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A home in the Bordeaux area sustained significant damage after a fire ripped through the residence. Firefighters were called after neighbors reported thick smoke coming from the house.
Multiple units responded to the fire at the corner of Elizabeth Road and Ashton Avenue just before 7 a.m. Thursday.
Crews had to enter the house with oxygen tanks due to the heavy smoke
Neighbors said the house was vacant, but firefighters did find a couple cots inside. They believed a homeless person may have at some time moved in temporarily.
No one was injured in the fire.
Investigators planned to go back to the house later in the morning to determine the cause of the fire.
It was not clear if someone was inside the house at the time of the fire, but officials said there was no electricity or other utilities going to the house that could have started the blaze.
