Man Fatally Wounded In Shooting Identified

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police have identified the man who was shot and killed in the J.C. Napier public housing development on Sunday night.

Police said their investigation shows 30-year-old Eric Swanson was walking on Lewis Street when he was shot several times. He then ran to his girlfriend's nearby residence.

A red vehicle, driven by an unidentified person, pulled up while he was on the back porch, and took him to the VA Hospital.

The driver of the vehicle left the scene.

Swanson was transferred to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he died during surgery. Police were notified by Vanderbilt.

No arrests have been made.
