Student Stabbed With Dental Pick At Local High School
LEWIS COUNTY, Tenn. - A high school student suffered a punctured lung after being stabbed in the back with a dental pick.
Officials with the Deputy of the Lewis County Sheriff's Department said that officers were called to the Lewis County High School on Monday. A teacher reported that a high school student had been stuck in the back with what appeared to be a dental pick, while he was sitting on a bleacher outside.
The student, whose name was not released, told another student that while he was sitting outside he felt a pain in his back. The friend told the victim that he saw another student stick him with an object.
The victim was taken to Lewis Health Center and was treated for a punctured lung. When officials asked the suspected student why he stabbed the victim, he simply replied that he didn't like the victim and he wanted to hurt him.
School officials have not said what kind of repercussions the student may face. Criminal charges were pending.
