FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Fire officials believe a smoldering cigarette likely started a fire that damaged a home in the Goose Creek area of Williamson County on Wednesday morning.
The blaze broke out around 5 a.m. in the 300 block of Eiderdown Drive. Firefighters were able to quickly contain the fire to an upstairs bedroom where it was believed to have started.
The couple who lives in the home was alerted by a smoke detector and escaped the home.
The bedroom was heavily damaged.
