Vanderbilt Ranked No. 7 Party School In Nation

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- According to Playboy Magazine Vanderbilt University has been named the number 7 party school in the county.

The list, released Thursday, took into account factors like a male to female ratio, academics, and proximity to recreational hot spots. Editors also considered input from readers, students and alumni in making their decision. The 2011 winner of top party school was UC- Boulder, which fell completely out of the top 10 list this year.

The number one party school was listed as University of Virginia, followed closely by University of Southern California and University of Florida.

"I think it's pretty sad for other universities — I didn't expect us to rank so high," said Vanderbilt Senior Will Timbers in an interview with the school's newspaper.

This news comes just after a report was released Wednesday, naming Tennessee the state with the lowest binge drinking rate in the nation.
