NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A couple was arrested Thursday night on a multiple count indictment that accuses sexual abuse of two teenage girls.
Demetria and Rodney Robinson, ages 33 and 44, were each charged with six counts of child rape, six counts of rape, six counts of aggravated sexual battery by an authority figure, six counts of sexual battery by an authority figure, and one count of child abuse.
Police said the alleged victims, who are now 15, had been in the Robinson household for years. They were placed in the custody of a blood relative shortly after the investigation into physical abuse involving one of the girls started in March.
Detectives said they learned that Rodney Robinson sexually abused the girls, and Demetria Robinson allegedly knew about it, but did nothing to stop it.
Rodney Robinson was held on $250,000 bond. Demetria was held in lieu of $150,000 bond at the Davidson County jail.
Police said they will be arraigned in the near future.
