NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Interstate 40 has reopened after being closed for several hours when a overturned tractor trailer lost its load.
The crash occurred near the Interstate 40/Interstate 24 around 1:30 p.m. Friday. It appeared that the driver lost control while turning into Interstate 24.
It was not clear if the driver was hurt in the crash. No other vehicles were involved.
Westbound traffic on Interstate 40 was affected with all lanes blocked. Officials were diverting traffic to alternative routes.TDOT officials said there was at least five mile backup due to the crash.
The roadway reopened just after 4 p.m. after the bridge was inspected and the truck was removed.
