CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.- Police
believe alcohol may have been involved in a crash where a woman drove a car into a
bridge.
Clarksville police say the
driver, Kelly Anderson, 29, was traveling south on Riverside Drive when she crossed
the road and hit the side of a railroad bridge near Crossland Avenue around
2:40 a.m. Sunday morning. Anderson was driving a Pontiac G-6.
Vanderbilt Medical Center's
LifeFlight helicopter flew Anderson to Vanderbilt. Sunday night, she was in
critical but stable condition. Her passenger was also hurt. He was taken to
Gateway Medical Center with minor injuries. Neither of them was wearing a seatbelt, but
both of them are expected to recover.
Charges are pending.
