WILLIAMSBURG, Ky.- A restaurant in Kentucky has been shut down after road-kill was discovered in the kitchen.
Health inspectors say customers at the Red Flower Chinese Restaurant in Williamsburg complained after seeing an employee bring what they thought was a dead animal into the kitchen. The restaurant owner's son admitted to picking up the dead deer on the road, but he's says it wasn't intended for customers but his own family.
"He actually removed the intestines of the animal inside the restaurant. So there's a huge number of diseases that could be transmitted," said Paul Lawson, health inspector.
The restaurant can reopen if it passes another health inspection.
