NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Fire investigators will try to determine what caused a fire at a market in east Nashville early Tuesday morning.

A passerby saw smoke coming from Mac's Drive In Market on Gallatin Avenue just before 3 a.m. and called 911.

Firefighters got on scene, cut power to the building, and were able to extinguish the fire quickly.

The market was closed at the time, so no one was inside.

Fire crews believe the cause of the fire was likely electrical in nature, but investigators will be on the scene later Tuesday morning to determine the exact cause.

Part of Gallatin Avenue had to be shut down for a while fire crews worked to get the fire under control.
