MT. JULIET, Tenn. - A man turned himself after shooting a woman at a home in Mt. Juliet.
Police charged Corey Montrell Clemmons with criminal attempt to commit homicide.
Police said there were called to a home on Beckwith Road on Tuesday and found a woman who had been shot in the upper part of her body. She was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashvile, where she was reported to be in critical but stable condition.
Police said while responding to the call, they received information that Clemmons was headed to the Wilson COunty Sheriff's Department to turn himself in. He was taken into custody in the parking lot of the Department.
Authorities said Clemmons and the woman, who live together in Lebanon, were reportedly visiting family in Mt. Juliet when the shooting occurred. No details about a motive were released.
Clemmons was held at the Wilson County jail without bond.
