New Concert Hall Opened At Belmont University

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Belmont University celebrated the grand opening of their new concert hall Friday afternoon.

The university made a nine-million dollar renovation to the original building, providing the campus with a brand new, large concert venue. The 857-seat McAfee Concert Hall was designed to enhance acoustic performances.

The building is now named in honor of the McAfee family, who provided a large portion of the funding for the project.

"This is not just a concert hall in Nashville, This is not a just a good concert hall in Tennessee, This is not just a good concert hall in the United States of America, this is a world class facility and were so excited to be able to share it with you," said Marty Dickens, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Belmont.

The first official performance of the season will take place Saturday. It will feature well-known classical selections performed by the School of Music.
