Man Wanted In Fatal Shooting At Antioch Motel

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police want to locate a man wanted for a murder in the parking lot of an Antioch motel last month.

A murder warrant was issued Tuesday against 18-year-old Ronald McCallum for the September 20 fatal shooting of 21-year-old Abanzer Tsegaye in the parking lot of the Knights Inn on Bell Road.

At the time of the shooting, McCallum was free $15,000 bond from a January 16 felony marijuana arrest, according to police. He was scheduled to appear in Criminal Court for that case on September 26, but did not show up. A bench warrant was issued for his arrest.

Police said Tsegaye was shot when he and friend went to the motel for a marijuana deal. After identifying McCallum as a suspect, police said a witness identified him as one of the two men Tsegaye was dealing with when gunfire broke out.

Police said McCallum was last known to live on Starboard Court.

Anyone seeing McCallum or knowing his whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
