DANVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Government offices in Danville are scheduled to close early to help alleviate traffic problems ahead of the vice presidential debate at Centre College.
The Advocate-Messenger reported the Boyle County Courthouse and Danville City Hall will close early Thursday afternoon.
The first and only debate between Vice President Joe Biden and GOP vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan is scheduled for 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. CDT Thursday.
It is the second time that Centre College has hosted a vice presidential debate. The first was in 2000, between Dick Cheney and U.S. Senator Joe Lieberman.
The town of 16,000 has spent months preparing for its turn in the national election spotlight.
