$3,000 Monkey Reported Missing In Clarksville

Posted: Updated:

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.- Police in Clarksville are searching for a $3,000 monkey stolen during a home burglary.

The break-in occurred at a home on Denny Road on September 28, 2012. Officials said that someone broke into Douglas Jackson and Amber Bradley's mobile home and took their Marmoset monkey. No other property from the home was stolen during the burglary.

The owners said "Gizzy" is a special member of the family, and they hope he returns home soon.

"He would sit with me and watch TV," said Amber Bradley, "I really miss him.  It makes me sad to see him gone."

"Not many people have exotic animals around Clarksville," said Douglas Jackson, "I hope I can find it, or at least find out who took it."

Since the break-in, police have canvassed the neighborhood and pursued several leads but have been unable to locate the monkey.

Anyone with information about the missing animal was asked to call Clarksville Police at 931-645-8477.  The owners are offering a reward to anyone who can help get Gizzy back home.
