Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Two teenagers have been arrested, accused of shooting a man while trying to rob him in South Nashville.

Officers received a call of a person shot in the area of Apollo Drive and Jason Drive in South Nashville around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said that 25-year-old Dominique Ismael and two friends were walking on Apollo Drive when 4 people drove by. They were approached by three strangers in a car and asked if they could buy marijuana. When the victims told them they didn't know the suspects then tried to rob the men. The victims again told the teens they didn't have any money.

That's when police said 16-year-old Edwin D. Thompson opened fire and shot Dominique Ismael three times, once in the arm and twice in the legs. Thompson and a friend 19-year-old Otis Mitchell jumped into a car and fled the scene. They were caught a short time later by Metro Police.

Both teens were arrested and charges were pending.
