Southern Festival Of Books Returns For 24th Year

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The nation's first book festival is returning to Nashville for its 24th year featuring more than 250 authors participating in panels and readings.

The Southern Festival of Books is a free event that begins Friday and runs through Sunday at the War Memorial Plaza.

Authors whose books are on the best-seller lists will include Gillian Flynn, Junot Diaz and Damien Echols. Other notable authors who will be at the festival this year are R.L. Stine, A.J. Jacobs, Ben Fountain, Buzz Bissinger and Leonard Pitts Jr.

The festival also features a series of author talks on the Civil War and the Emancipation.
