FORT CAMPBELL, Tenn.- Friday brought a special homecoming for many families in Fort Campbell.

Soldiers from the 887th Engineer Support Company, 326th Engineer Battalion, and 101st returned home around 2 p.m. The troops spent the last nine months, serving in Afghanistan

The 887th Engineer Support Company is a construction company comprised of heavy equipment operators who were re-missioned as route clearance experts eight months prior to their deployment. The company mostly provided direct support to the 172nd Infantry Brigade.

Family and friends were gathered around with homemade signs to greet soldiers as they arrived.
