SMYRNA, Tenn.- Sunday
marks the end of "Fire Prevention Week."
Crowds gathered Sunday as
the Smyrna Fire Department opened the doors of its Fire Station #1 to the
community and offered some educational advice on what to do in case of a fire.
For example every family
needs to have a fire plan which includes a meeting place outside of your home.
Also it's important to practice that fire plan.
"Let them know any
other safety things about how to get low, crawl," explained Lt. James Lawrence
with the Smyrna Fire Department. "Have two ways out. This year's theme is
actually, ‘Have two ways out!' We talked away how to have a drawing. Have a
meeting place once you go outside. What number to call; not to play with 911,
but also how to use 911."
