Parent, Officials Meet To Discuss “Trigger Law”

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Metro School parents and school officials will meet Monday night to talk about a new law that's never been used Tennessee.

The "Trigger Law" allows parents and teachers to "take over" a public school that is under-performing... and turn it into a charter school. Earlier this month parents had the chance to learn more about the law in detail.

On Monday, the Metro Education Committee will discuss the issue. Parents who want to learn more about it are welcome to attend and ask questions. The meeting will be held at the Metro Courthouse and begins at 6:30 p.m.
