Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A gas station employee was arrested for trying to cheat the lottery and one of his customers.

An affidavit said 34-year-old Eric Pitt, an attendant at Delta Express on Old Hickory Boulevard, had scratched off the validation code to see if it was a winning ticket. When he found out it wasn't, he put it back and sold it to the customer.

The customer called police.

Pitt was charged with altering a lottery ticket, which is a felony.
