NASHVILLE, Tenn.- State health officials have suspended the licenses of two Franklin physicians and a Nashville doctor.
Dr. Benjamin Booker, III was arrested at his Franklin practice in April 2011. He was charged with 0 counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and on Tuesday he was stripped of his medical license. Booker pleaded guilty to four counts of unlawful distribution of Oxycodone.
Another Franklin doctor, Thomas Gorman, also plead guilty to four counts of prescription drug fraud. Gorman admitted he was addicted to Oxycodone and would also write prescriptions for controlled substances for friends.
Nashville doctor, Winston Griner, also lost his medical license for 90 days after admitting that he paid a contractor to recruit Hispanic patients for his practice and would write them prescriptions for controlled substances.
