APSU To Hold Second Walk To Afghanistan Project

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Mayor's Fitness Council is joining Austin Peay State University in its second Walk to Afghanistan Project with the families of the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade.

According to The Leaf-Chronicle, participants in the event scheduled for October 22 are encouraged to walk the distance from Clarksville to Afghanistan, roughly 10,644 miles.

Organizers said over the coming months, other special Walk to Afghanistan events will be planned, and participants are encouraged to organize impromptu walking events.

The event later this month is open to the public. Sign-in for the event will be from 4:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. CDT in the Governors Stadium.
