NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Nashville Symphony's Maestro will continue hitting high notes in Music City for years to come.

The Symphony has extended Giancarlo Guerrero's contract until the year 2020. Guerrero became the Music Director of the Nashville Symphony in 2009, when former director Dr. George Mabry retired.

Over the past three years, he made his Carnegie Hall debut with the orchestra and led the Symphony to win a Grammy.

"To be able to do this in a community that is known as Music City, it is an actual dream to me to be able to make music on the highest level on a daily basis," Guerrero said.

Guerrero said he looks forward to deepening the ties between the orchestra and the people of Nashville.
