NASHVILLE, Tenn. - NewsChannel 5 General Manager Debbie Turner was honored Thursday night with a Career Achievement Award.
Debbie Turner received the 2012 Nashville Career Achievement Award from the International Association of Business Communicators at a ceremony at the Hard Rock Cafe in Nashville on Thursday night
The Career Achievement Award is the highest honor bestowed by IABC for a member whose work has enhanced the industry and benefited the community.
"This is truly an honor and I've been so fortunate to be in this community, and I thank you all very much," Turner said.
In addition to being a contributing member of the IABC, Turner is also active with the Leadership Nashville's Board of Trustees, Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, and Center for Non-Profit Management and Hands on Nashville Advisory Board.
Turner made Nashville her home 20 years ago when she moved to work for NewsChannel 5.
The IABC is a national organization created to allow for professional development in communications to members within the community.
