NASHVILE, Tenn. - A man has been charged with trying to decapitate a man at a homeless shelter, according to police.

Police said the grisly attack was caught on surveillance video at The Room in the Inn in downtown Nashville.

In the video, police said Gene Logue stalked his victim, then attacked him with a hunting knife. The victim survived, but had a serious gash in his neck.

According to an affidavit, Logue said he wanted to kill a gang member, and believed the victim was a Crip.

He was charged with attempted homicide, and held on $1 million bond.
