GREENBRIER, Tenn.- A 13-year-old is recovering after being hit by a car while trying to cross a busy roadway.
Police said the teen was trying to cross Highway 41 South in Greenbrier around 4:30 p.m. Friday. He tried to cross the five lane roadway but was hit by oncoming traffic.
The teen was lucky however, officers from the local fire department were only a block away working on a Toys For Tots road block and were able to response to the scene quickly. The teen was transported by ambulance to Northcrest Medical Center and was treated for leg and ankle injuries.
