NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A man, his wife, and adult daughter were found murdered inside their home in west Nashville on Monday afternoon.

Officers were called to the home on Maxon Avenue just after 2:30 p.m. Police said that a 28-year-old woman arrived home to find her mother and sister dead. The woman immediately called police.

When officers arrived at the home, they also found the woman's father dead inside a detached garage.

The victims have been identified as 56-year-old Patrick Sullivan, his wife, 48-year-old Deborah Sullivan, and their daughter, 26-year-old Wendy Sullivan.

Police said that a cause of death has not been determined, but each of the bodies had extensive trauma. Autopsies are planned.

Neighbors couldn't believe what happened.

"Its hard to believe because our neighborhood is a quiet, good neighborhood. They've (lived) over there a long time and it's just hard to believe anything like that could happen in this area," said neighbor Connie Childress.

Neighbors reported last speaking to the Sullivan family around 9 a.m. Monday. Officials believe the family was killed sometime before 2:15 p.m. when the bodies were found.

Metro Police spent Monday night into Tuesday morning processing the crime scene. Investigators said there were no signs of forced entry into the house, but have not released any other information.

"We have a number of different avenues that will be pursued in the investigative process, who did and why is very open at this point," said police spokesperson Don Aaron.

Anyone with information about the crime was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
