NASHVILLE, Tenn.- A non-partisan movement to put America on a better economic path has been launched across the state.
Former Tennessee Governor Winfield Dunn joined state business leaders and a bipartisan group of state leaders on Monday. Together the group kicked off the "Campaign to Fix the Debt" at Legislative Plaza addressing the $16 trillion national debt.
They said the US faces an unprecedented debt load that could threaten the economy and international security of the country.
On January first, a series of tax increases and spending cuts totaling more than $600 billion are set to take effect, unless Congress can agree on a budget deal.
