NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A cab driver was found shot to death inside his crashed vehicle near the Buena Vista area early Friday morning.

Police said 69-year-old Henry Moore was called to pick up a fare at 10th Avenue North and Garfield Street when he was shot. After the shooting, Moore accelerated the cab and crashed at the intersection.

Police were initially called for a "shots fired" call. When they arrived, they discovered the cab had crashed into a wall near Christ Temple Church.

While officers investigated, they discovered shell casings and glass on the roadway about a block away.

Police said their investigation found the driver had been dispatched to pick up a fare in the area.

Fellow cab drivers who came to the scene told NewsChannel 5 that Moore had been driving a cab for 40 years.

No arrests have been made, but police said they have good leads and continue to investigate.
