HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. – An employee at a retirement community in Hendersonville has been arrested for allegedly stealing medications from a patient.
Hendersonville Police charged 40-year-old Vickie L. Patterson with three counts of aggravated burglary and three counts of theft under $500.
Patterson was arrested after an elderly resident of the Park Place Retirement Community on Executive Park Drive called police on October 19 and reported someone had entered his room and stolen his medications. The types of medications were not released.
The victim and his family tells NewsChannel 5 they started noticing missing pills months ago.
"This gentlemen felt like something was wrong. He took some of his own
investigative means and was able to show that it was occurring," said Sgt. J.D. Coarsey. "She had a master key that would allow her in and she would take the
opportunity to go in when they were at dinner or different functions and obtain
the medications."
Patterson is set to be in court on November 28. She declined to comment from her home Friday.
Police believe there could be other victims. Anyone with information about this case should call Hendersonville CrimeStoppers at (615) 573-5400 or text a tip to 274637 (CRIMES) using keyword "TIPHPD".
