NASHVILLE, Tenn.- A convicted bank robber on probation is back behind bars after allegedly stealing from four convenience stores overnight.
Metro Police arrested 38-year old Romonte Phillips after he robbed a Mapco store on 21st Avenue South, just after 2 a.m. Saturday. Just fifteen minutes before that robbery, investigators said Phillips tried to rob the Shell convenience store on Charlotte Pike.
Police believe Phillips is also a suspect in three other robberies that happened late Friday night throughout West End, and the Donelson Pike areas. In each case, the suspect demanded cash, and he said he had a weapon though no one saw one.
