WAYNESBURG, Ky. (AP) -- A central Kentucky woman has been charged with murder after police say she shot her husband in the head while he slept.
Lincoln County Sheriff's officials arrested 50-year-old Tamara Richie of Waynesburg in connection with the shooting death of her husband, David Richie. Sheriff Curt Folger told The Advocate-Messenger Tamara Richie shot her husband in the head with a semiautomatic handgun on Thursday. She's been charged with first-degree murder.
Lincoln County Coroner Farris Marcum said he pronounced David Richie dead at the scene at about 8:45 a.m.
Tamara Richie is the sister-in-law of former Lincoln County Judge-Executive Buckwheat Gilbert.
Tamara Richie was being held in the Lincoln County Regional Jail without bond.
