Titans' Jake Locker Launches Financial Football Game
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Tennessee Titans quarterback Jake Locker and the Tennessee treasurer launched a new educational video game and curriculum called Financial Football.
Locker and Treasurer David H. Lillard Jr. were at Overton High School on Tuesday morning to coach students in a new nationwide initiative between Visa Inc. and the NFL and NFL Players.
Locker spent some time playing the game, but also gave some important advice.
"Just because you have money… if you guys are fortunate enough to be able to find yourself in a good career, where you're making a solid income each year. Just ‘cause you have it doesn't mean you have to spend it. Be smart with it, save it," Locker told the students.
Financial Football incorporates lessons taught through Practical Money Skills for Life, a free money management program. The game is accompanied by a classroom curriculum and is being distributed by the state treasurer's office to every public middle and high school in the state of Tennessee.
