WHITE COUNTY, Tenn.- Officials in White County have arrested a inmate who escaped from the White County Jail
Police said that convicted felon Robert Schill escaped through an unsecured door at the White County Jail around 5:30 p.m. Monday. Schill was said to have stolen a car and fled the area.
When a local deputy on foot spotted Schill driving away from the jail he attempted to stop the inmate and was nearly run over. Police said that another deputy responded to assist in the capture and Schill hit her patrol car. Both deputies were uninjured.
Schill was taken back into custody late Monday afternoon. He was charged with escape, theft over $1,000, aggravated assault and vehicular assault.
