Former Vols, NFL Player Wilson Indicted

Posted: Updated:

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Federal prosecutors say former University of Tennessee and NFL wide receiver Cedrick Wilson has been indicted in an alleged test-taking fraud scheme.

The U.S. attorney's office for West Tennessee says the 33-year-old Wilson had someone else take two physical education examinations for him.

The indictment announced Tuesday says the test-taker was part of a ring of people who were paid by a Memphis man to take teacher certification exams for teachers in Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi.

Wilson has been charged with wire fraud and Social Security fraud. There was no listed phone number for a Cedrick Wilson in Memphis, and The Associated Press could not determine whether he has a lawyer.

Wilson played at Tennessee from 1997 to 2000 and in the NFL with San Francisco and Pittsburgh.
