ALAMO, Tenn. (AP) -- A first-year Crockett County High School teacher is accused of having sex with a 15-year-old student.
Thirty-year-old Perry Reeves was arraigned Monday on three counts of statutory rape by an authority figure and three counts of aggravated statutory rape.
The Jackson Sun reports authorities believe Reeves had sex with one of his students in her home on three occasions in June.
Reeves was arrested when deputies went to the girl's home after her boyfriend reported the sexual contact. Reeves ran out the back door and tried to escape through a cornfield.
Crockett County Sheriff's Lt. Penny Curtis said Reeves posted a $25,000 bond and was released from jail on June 28. He was indicted this month.
His next court date is Dec. 17.
