NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man who fired shots at police during a standoff in Robertson County over the summer has been indicted by a grand jury.

Officials with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said that 50-year-old William Eugene Dove indicted by the Robertson County grand jury for a shooting that occurred at his home in July 2012.

Police were called out to Dove's Hillside Drive home when family members contacted officials and said that Dove was suicidal and armed with a shotgun. When officers arrived, Dove fired a shot at the police from the front door. A Robertson County officer returned fire and Dove was shot one, but not seriously wounded.

He was arrested Wednesday and charged with aggravated assault. He was booked into the Robertson County Jail on $5,000 bond and released.
