MURFREESBORO, Tenn.— Fire crews put out a large kitchen fire inside a Murfreesboro townhome Wednesday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to a home on Chariot Drive Wednesday around 2:40 pm. When the Fire & Rescue Department arrived on the scene they found heavy smoke billowing from the residence.
Officials said that the fire began in the kitchen and crews were able to quickly extinguish the flames, keeping the damage contained to the kitchen area. No injuries were reported.
The residents from the affected unit were displaced. The American Red Cross was called to assist them.
