Collin Raye To Launch Foundation In Granddaughter's Honor
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Collin Raye has recorded 16 number one country hits and sold millions of records, but his latest project could be one of the closest to his heart.
Two years ago, Raye's granddaughter Haley Bell passed away as result of complications from a neurological disorder she was born with.
After the CMA awards Thursday night, Raye is hosting a special show called "Country Late Night" at 120 3rd Avenue South. The show will launch the Haley Bell Blessed Chair Foundation in his granddaughter's honor.
The foundation seeks to support and assist families of the cognitively and physically disabled through much needed resources with a primary emphasis on wheelchairs and other necessary equipment and medical help, for the enhancement of their loved one's quality of life.
The goal is to assist families who are struggling to meet the basic medical needs of their disabled family members due to lack of income or lack of adequate health insurance.
Raye said helping other families living with similar challenges was a no-brainer.
