NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Some local dentists hope to save children's teeth from damaging sugar by hosting their annual Halloween Candy Buy Back.
Drs. Rushing and Dr. Coulter at the Nashville Smile Team will buy back unopened Halloween candy from trick or treaters for $1 per pound.
"Kids can still have fun at Halloween but no longer have candy sitting around for weeks to months afterwards to cause cavities," said Kristin Rushing, DDS.
The Candy Buy Back will take place November 1 from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m. at the Nashville Smile Team office located at 4809 Trousdale Drive, Nashville, TN 37220. The dentists will continue to buy back candy through November 8.
Pediatric Dental Specialists in Hendersonville is also accepting candy donations for $1 per pound from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday Dr. Kurt R. Swauger & Dr. L. Suzanne Wallace are located on 100 Springhouse CT, Suite 110 in Hendersonvillle.
The proceeds from both candy buy backs will go to Operation Gratitude, a nonprofit that sends care packages to troops stationed overseas.
