CLEVELAND, Tenn. (AP) -- A choir from Lee University in Cleveland has been selected to perform at the presidential inauguration in January in Washington, D.C.

U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander made the announcement Thursday at the university along with Lee University President Paul Conn.

Conn said the Festival Choir includes 200 students selected from the school's seven choirs. The performance will be held outdoors on the upper west terrace of the U.S. Capitol immediately before the official swearing-in ceremonies at midday on Jan. 21.

Lee University, a private Christian university, has a well-known musical program, and its choral ensembles have performed at Carnegie Hall, the World's Fair, the Kennedy Center, the White House and the Notre Dame Cathedral.
