Couple Arrested On Child Abuse Charges

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.- Clarksville investigators say a couple abused a 16-year-old girl in their care. They're accused of hitting her and failing to give her medication.

Police arrested Danale and Dennis Mutters early Thursday morning after the girl's boyfriend called authorities.

Investigators say the couple shoved the girl to the floor and hit her repeatedly in the face and body. She also told police she suffers from severe asthma, and has been without some of her medications for months.

Police say the teen also had bed bug bites covering her arms and legs. The Mutters are charged with assault and child abuse and neglect.
